The things that influence us surround us. We are all about convenience and communication. Wi-Fi routers, computers, phones, microwaves, and other tools, toys, and appliances send out a stream of energy waves. Some experts are concerned about the potential health effects of these fields. But should we be worried? Well, electric and magnetic fields (EMFs) are produced anywhere electricity is used.
And while many people don’t believe most EMFs are dangerous, there are still many–including an increasing number in the scientific community– who want to examine the question of the safety of EMF exposure more closely. Many say there hasn’t been enough research into understanding whether EMFs are safe. Let’s take a closer look.
EMF Protection
It’s sort of an obsessive love story that we have with our electronic gadgets. They are part of our everyday lives, their cords following us throughout the day as we use them for work, play, social communication, social media, research, study, and scheduling. They are helpful and fully integrated. And yet EMFs, at these levels and surrounding us for much of the day, may not be natural to our bodies and may not be the best for enhancing our well-being.
Even staunch tech advocates, like many of us who are reading and writing on keyboards at this moment, are concerned about the increasing evidence that EMFs may present problems and areas of concern for our bodies, minds, emotions, and overall well-being. This is one of the reasons we’re increasingly having conversations about ways to mitigate the worst possible ill effects caused by EMFs. Now, before anyone starts to panic, EMFs are emitted from a variety of sources, including natural ones, such as the sun!
However, it is through the unremitting— and increasing— use of digital devices, from our phones, smartwatches, laptops, desktops, tablets, and other terrific and tempting tools, that we are starting to worry. For example, has anyone (else) ever put their phone to their head to use the alarm clock function? Right.
The Best: Protection Beyond Physical Blocking
One example is to turn off the device, which works in moderation. Or, moving the device physically, if you have the space, is another option. But in one of these, turning it off takes away its usefulness. If it’s not on, it’s…not on. As for moving the device, that’s of limited utility and usefulness — if it’s even an option at all. So what does work? Increasingly, researchers, scientists, and those focused on human wellness protocols are exploring ways to protect against EMFs. A protection, which, by the way, is used, observed, and studied in peer-reviewed studies.
One company that is exploring the chance of employing studied and respected technology to mitigate the possible adverse effects reported from exposure to EMFs includes Aires Tech, which is partnering with several professional athletic organizations in the U.S. and Canada to use, explore, study, and promote this progressive and practical technology which may enhance wellness and the work and home environments by modifying the most harmful effects of EMFs.
As we use more gadgets, it’s essential to study ways to maximize their efficiency and enjoyment while also protecting human health and well-being. Poetically, paradoxically, and perhaps perfectly justly, it may be that through the judicious application of tech modalities, we can enjoy the best of all possible worlds.
